    Calling all 156 experts...

A friend forwarded this IG post to me the other day. I know there are other watch companies that have produced 156-alikes with their own brand names (B&R, Kobold), and companies that have made very close clones of the 156 (Hamilton). Has to be a first time for everything, but allthough I'm a fan of both Sinn and Oris, I've never run across this watch.

What's your opinion? An actual Oris-produced watch almost certainly cased by Sinn, or a real Sinn 156 that's been strangely doctored-up by some miscreant to look like Oris produced or sold it?

Never heard of or seen such a thing.

No reason Oris would turn to Sinn either I expect.

I think if this was a genuine watch produced by oris we would all know about it by now im guessing its a mod or franken watch maybe?

Is it the same one from here: https://orologi.forumfree.it/?t=73891560 ? - I was always doubtful as I'd never seen one before and nor had anyone else, but I don't know why they had a correct dial and put an incorrect name on it (quite well) if it was a franken... (the dial otherwise is correct as it has the 24hr subdial at the top, something only on the L5100 base watches). It has 'Sinn' on the back of the case but this was the case for the other variants as well - I think.

I believe your correct re "doctored" up.
However Sinn or Oris can step up and call it I would expect..
    All the best

Doesn't seem to be correct for me either. But regarding another Sinn LWO 5100 chronograph, the 142, in the first couple of years the watch was completely produced by Lemania, not only the movement, and sold to a handful of companies, properly named on the dials. So theoretically this could also happen to the 156 (and of course also selling by Sinn, as with B&R) but I myself have never seen one. Maybe a question to Oris if this might be important?
    Best,
    Robert
