    Customized U1

I have had my U1 for 12 years or so and I have never fell out of this U1 but I wanted to do something to customize it. I researched the net to figure out what to do until I found Motor City Watch Works. I contacted Jay, the owner, and ran my idea by him. We both agreed on the work and I sent my U1 to him.

Now was the hard part. The waiting. His site stated what the ETA of the return of his work. Almost six months later, I received an email from Jay with pictures attached on my new U1. The watch came out better then I ever thought. Enjoy the pictures.

    Here is the before picture.

    Now the after.

I had the U1 ceramic coated in Sniper Grey with the diver scale painted red and white. Jay does not coat bracelets so I ordered a Sinn leather strap for it and it looks ever better on the strap.

    Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

    Good Day
    Ken

That looks really nice. I don't know if I could bring myself to do it to mine. Maybe a second one though.

I've got three cerakoted watches with one being from MCWW. Fantastic finish and yours came out AWESOME.

I've learned that taking it to a firearms coater is much better as its cheaper and takes a week. Will be doing that from now on.

Only difference is with a firearms coater you have to take the watch apart yourself. And have someone paint the bezel numbers.

Looks great. But what happened to the triangle on the bezel? It looks kind of chewed up on the second photo from the top, but maybe it's just the lighting.

Well worth the ~$200 and 7 1/2 months I saved this time around.
