    Did I just buy a Sinn 358.SA?

I've liked the Sinn 358 for a long time so when I saw a cheap 358.SA online, I swooped it up.

But it arrived today and it has a solid case back. I thought all SA models had a skeleton case back.

I want the SA with the Sapphire crystal. I'm quite indifferent to the case back. But I want a sapphire dome in the front.

Do you know how I can confirm that I bought an 358.SA and that this watch does not have an acrylic dome?

On the back of the watch is a reference 358 0972. And the watch has German weekdays. Don't know if that matters...

Thank you so much for any help you can offer!

Here are photos if it can help anyone identify if my new watch is an SA or not. Thanks!

I don't have the 358 Sa to examine, but here are some differences.

The 358 Sa model has a "satinized" case and desiccant capsule.
The case looks shiny, especially on the lateral surface of the bezel.

The 358 model had a bead blasted case and a screw in the case hole.
The case looks non-reflective. The acrylic crystal has a higher dome
    at the perimeter.

This is going to sound strange, but bear with me and tap the crystal against your front tooth. If it's sapphire it will give a "tink" sound (like glass); if it's plexi it will give a "tunk" sound (like a plastic spoon). It's hard to explain but you'll understand when you try it.

Sinn customer service ([email protected]) has a record by serial number
of when and where the watch was sold. They know if that serial number was
    made as an "Sa" model.

This seems a good thread for a copy of this Sinn 358 photo.

Thanks for the advice. I'm pretty sure what I got was a 358 with a sapphire front. This watch looks bead blasted. Again, it was advertised as a 358.SA, which was what I wanted, but mainly for the Sapphire.

So now I have to decide if I want to return it or not. I did get it for a good price, basically the price of a standard 358 with acrylic.

And they are -very- good about returning emails with answers to your questions. Jana helped me decide on a particular U2 last week, after many back and forth questions about many different watches.

If you have the acrylic crystal version, the crystal will feel warm and not cool like sapphire. Further, sapphire attracts finger prints like crazy.
