Dropping my UX off for battery change, hows the lead time now?

    Hey guys,

I'm going to Frankfurt for work next week and decided to drop off my UX for a battery change as the watch is from 2008. Dropping it off in person should save me a few bucks on shipping and a good friend of mine lives outside of Frankfurt so he can pick it up and bring it back to the states with him. I'm curious though what the lead time is as of late? I've heard 6-10 weeks but that was included transit I believe.

Also with the drop of the euro maybe I'll pick up a EZM3 or EZM10 especially if I can get out of the 20% VAT.

Sounds like a great plan on both counts. Have fun in Deutschland!

This is definitely the time to pick up Sinn in Germany. Good luck!

My quote was 12 weeks after receipt. Actual was about ten.
    Too many flipped...

It sounds as if you have a good plan for the service of your UX. Eager to see what you bring home from Sinn! Have a great trip. Cheers, Bill P.

Just an update on this thread. I dropped off my UX on March 23rd for service at their factory in Frankfurt. Today I received the quote for repairs/maintenance (essentially a battery change and inspection) which is 232 EURO (not bad with the current exchange rate). I will save more money too as my colleague who lives in Germany will pick up the watch and deliver it to me later this year.

One recommendation if your watch doesn't have a bracelet or silicone strap buying from the factory is cheap....

bracelet = 155 EURO and tegimented is 205 Euro
Silicone strap = 42 EURO and the clasp is 85 EURO

Unfortunately I didn't buy a watch while I was there...(I really wanted a T2) as I have to pay for our wedding and house next year :(

    Hi Dave,

I believe those prices are the price when purchased with the watch and/or VAT excluded.

When purchased on their own with VAT the bracelet is 185 Euro and Tegimented is 215 Euro with the watch and 245 Euro on its own. The Silicone straps are 50 Euro each, 185 Euro with clasp, 235 Euro with Tegimented clasp, and 260 Euro for PVD black Teg clasp regardless if it is purchased with a watch or not.

Also if your friend lives in the EU and picks up your watch the VAT will be due upon receipt. The good news is you'll save the 120 Euro shipping charge.
