Durability of black tegmented PVD surface on Sinn cases and bands

    Hi,

I am planning to purchase a Sinn watch and am a bit torn about what finish to get. My current daily watch is a TAG Link Calibre 6 which has a stainless case and bracelet with black face. To mix it up a bit I was thinking of getting a black tegmented PVD model. What have peoples experiences been with the durability of this surface? Any pictures of wear?

    Thanks,

    Thomas

I like the black finish, but the bead blasting gives an incredibly unique shimmery silver that is fantastic, and my favorite finish on a watch. I am considering an SDR bezel, to switch things up a bit on my U2, and have a touch of black on my watch.

I have a fully tegmented Sinn UX in PVD. I have owned it about three years and it still looks new. I wear it a lot in the summer on a nato. It sees a lot of beach and other wear. Last summer I was at a water park with the kids and playing around a bit with my kids. I was swimming along the bottom of the pool, which had a cement or gunite bottom. While doing so I scraped my watch along the bottom of the pool. I remember a distinct crunching sound as the watch dragged along the bottom. I came up and looked at my wrist - not a scratch, looks like new to this day.

Durability of black tegmented PVD surface on Sinn cases and bands

Old thread but there has been recent conversations about scratch-proofnes...
Exactly the same happened me as for avalvo with my standard-U1.
But in this case the tegimented non-pvd bezel scratched on its edge.

I was a bit dissapointed at the time but it's a spare part after all and I don't mind about scratches so much, but of course I want to keep good care of my watches
