    EZM 3 vs. EZM 13

I received an EZM 3 about a week ago and it has quickly become one of my favorite watches to wear. As much as I like it, I would my prefer to have one of the chronograph versions. Seeing as the EZM 1.1 is a little out of the question due to both price and availability, it seems the EZM 13 would be the best option for me.

My question is, How does the 13 wear compared to the 3? My main concern is the thickness. The 3 is 12.6mm thick and the 13 is 15mm thick. Is the thickness very noticeable? Does it seem top heavy? The EZM 3 wears perfectly for me and I would hate to get the 13 and then end up regretting it due to its size.

Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thank you.

You might also look at any of the 103 chronograph variants. The case size and shape is very similar to the EZM3. I have an EZM3 and a 103 acrylic and they wear similarly other than the thicker domed crystal in the 103. I really don’t notice the extra thickness on the wrist.

I've considered the 103, but I much prefer the aesthetic of the EZM series.

Going from 12.6 to 15mm in thickness is, IMO, a big jump. Is 15 too thick? No, not necessarily. But it's definitely a big jump that most people will notice. And most people would prefer a watch slimmer than 15 given the choice. Now... that's not to say that you shouldn't get the chrono or that the chrono is too thick. But, since you asked about thickness....

I own the 13, and Iíve only briefly tried a 3 on. The 13 is pretty thick, but itís not bad considering the depth rating. In addition, chronographs are usually pretty thick and top heavy. In contrast to the user above, itís only 2.5 mm thicker which I donít think is that much all things considered. I wear a dress shirt most days of the week and it still slips under my cuff just fine.

Just my opinion, but I recommend you decide if the extra $1000 is worth it for a chronograph and leave the height of the watch more or less out of the decision process.

I would think that both the price and thickness are factors which you need to carefully consider.
