    EZM2 has finally arrived!!

Just as I was about to call Fedex to find out what the hell was wrong, the van pulled up :D

First impressions: I love the dial and case. Even like the rubber strap, which surprises me. I'm a bit disappointed that the bezel is only 60 clicks, but at least it's tight. The size is perfect for me. Gotta get some good pics of it before I put my website up!
    Cheers,
    Bruce

A heary Congratulations Bruce. That is a beautiful watch. The dial is just stricking and vivid. It looks to be in perfect shape. Absolutely gorgeous and I just know, people from your village will be stopping you all over the place to ask about your new watch. It'll blow them away!!

Just wonderful Bruce!! Love that simplicity! and man that dial is reeeealy black!! I think HYDRO is really where it's at!!

    cheers, my friend
    Tim

Thanks guys! It's brand spankin' new Tim, so it should be in good shape Anders from Gnomon Watches saw my post that I was interested in the watch and contacted me. I was lucky in that it was the only one he had!

So what's the deal with this one Tim? Is it thermocompensated like the UX? I think I read that the movement was the same. Anyway, I love the dial too. Just a smaller version of yours :-D

    Bruce....Congratulations on finally being Thermo-compensated!!

Yes, you are now thermo-compensated. You have the same movement I have the much lauded ETA 955.612 Thermo-compensated super quartz movement which is accurate to about +10 sec./ YEAR !! Actually, I hear that many are getting much better results than this, down to close to +5 !! Your battery life is around 7 years!! so you won't have to worry about this baby for a long, long time.

This is a perfect watch for those who love the look of the UX but have smaller wrists. It's 41mm diameter is refreshing for those looking for something that doesn't look like a manhole cover.

It's great that you got it new and Anders is a fantastic guy!!

Aaah, super news Bruce and I'd love to see a few lines on your impressions on this baby once you get some hours with it.

    cheers,
    Tim

Cool! Thanks Tim I certainly will write some thoughts on it. My website is nearing completion, but I'm having some glitches with the galleries. It's amazing how many photos I've taken in the past couple of years! I'm going to have a blog on the site too, so it'll be a good place for me to write some thoughts. Eventually, I'll add pages for reviews as well.

I'm already constantly wiping the smudges off this darn AR coating :-D
    Cheers,
    Bruce

Congratulations, Bruce! Excellent and clean model you've got for yourself there!

The UX has the thermo-compensated ETA 955.652 movement, the EZM2/403 Hydro uses a different, non-thermo-compensated movement, the ETA 955.612, IIRC.

Thanks Martin. I thought there had to be a difference. This one has the 955.612 according to the manual. Neil's site says the UX has a "special" 955.612. Is that the one you mention, or is Neil in error?

Ther reference for the UX movement is from the Sinn website, and it may well be a "special" (i.e. thermo-compensated) variety of the non-thermo-compensated EZM2 movement.
