How to identify Tegemented vs Non Tegimented Bracelet or Watch Case?

    Hello,

I will possibly buy a Tegemented Bracelet in the SS color, but wanted to know how i could identify if its really is Tegemented or not.

I know Tegemented has a slight darker color, but thats not enough in case I dont have another to compare to. Does it have any markings?

    Any tips will be appreciated.

It is darker and more dull in appearance than stainless steel. I had one on my UX but don’t have either now. I cannot remember if it had any unique markings.

Bracelets have a mark, like a circle with a V inside.

    Here just under the “Sinn”

As for cases, my 900 says “tegiment” on the case back. Not sure if that’s always the case.

I guess I could add that I think all black PVD are tegiment. So that can cause some confusion. My UX SDR has the black bezel which is tegiment only. Not the case. So my UX has “some” tegiment.

I have a U1 T. I am pretty rough with it, and the bracelet is showing some wear. Where the tegemented finish gets worn off, the underlying metal is substantially brighter and more shiny. So I am guessing the bracelet you are looking at will have a small amount of wear that you can look at. That way you can compare metals on the same bracelet.

Perfect. Thats what i needed to know.
The bracelet that im looking at is brand new. SO no wear to be able to see if it is tegemented or not.

The Tegimented symbol is actually an inverted triangle with a line under it. It's for the Latin Tegimentum, which means Body Armor.

I'm not sure where the symbol originated or if all Tegimented bracelets have this symbol.

It's as curious as if the "Ar" on some dials means Argon gas. I believe they now only contain Nitrogen "N".

Thanks for sharing that information. I thought the AR was argon, but didnt think it would have been injected with argon gas.

Actually it was indeed filled with argon at the beginning as inert gas. Later they switched to nitrogen (azote) but they've stuck with the circled Ar on the dial for marketing purposes.
    Cheers,
