    I'm about to Sinn...............again

    Hi Folks
Having just sold my U1, I have the itch to buy another Sinn. For the last few days, I've been researching three different models.

    1. The EZM3.
    2. The 556A.
    3. The 856(non UTC)tegimented.

I'll start with the EZM3. Definitely like the looks of this model, but not too sure about the crown at 9:00 or the white numerals on the dial(would be a no brainer without them). I like the case style as it is similar to my 103A SA. Case size is a very respectable 40mm. Most expensive of the three.

Next up is the 556A. Smaller than the EZM3 at 38.5mm. Large easy to read hour markers at 3,6,9 and 12(old eyes Ya know). Glossy dial(Hmmm). Angled date window at 4:00(not a problem). All in all, a very nice pilot watch(reminds me of my long departed 656). Least expensive of the three, Yay.

Lastly, the 856(non UTC). The middle watch of the three. Biggest advantage right off the bat, the fully Tegimented case and the matte dial. Copper sulphate capsule(same as the EZM3). Inert gas filled and antimagnetic 80,000 A/m. Same easy to read numerals as the 556A. 40mm case size which is about perfect. Drilled lugs(makes strap changing very easy). Solid case back. Priced between the EZM3 and the 556A.

    Some comments:
I've been doing a lot of reading about all three and a few things come to mind.
    1. I have read that a lot of people were complaining about the ar coating on the crystal scratching easily. I believe if you are careful when wearing the watch, you should have no problem(I wear my watches but I don't beat them to death). 2. I have also read complaints about the angled date at 4:00. I don't see anything wrong with this. As a matter of fact, I would prefer no date function at all. I mean if you don't know what the date is then there is something wrong with you.

Whichever I choose will be on a strap with a deployant clasp(I'm not a fan of bracelets).

    Prices
    556A - $1130.00.
    856 non UTC - $1770.00.
    EZM3 - $1970.00.

So, which one will it be? This is going to be a tough decision as all three watches are very appealing. Tune in Friday January 2, 2015 for the final decision.

    Happy New Year everyone

Bob, of the three watches of interest to you, I have owned one, the EZM3. I sold it when I needed to raise funds and have regretted it since. The EZM3 looks great and wears well. I enjoyed mine. Cheers, Bill P.

The 556A has a matte dial; at least mine did. The 556I has the glossy dial. Ended up selling the 556A and getting a 104. If I went that style again, I'd get the 856 for the added features, though I'm ambivalent about the capsule. So for me it would be between the EZM3 and the 856.

Of the three... EZM3. Great watch. But sold it pretty quickly, just didn't "do it" for the long haul. The one Sinn that has stayed with me the longest, and always will, is the UX. I just added a 103 st and it is a keeper as well.

The 856 family (case type) has never been a fav of mine personally, so that would kill the 556 and 856 for me.

They are all great. I'd go with the 856. Unless you have extremely small wrists that the 556a would suit better. The 856 is the best pilots watch Sinn make for me. In fact I just ordered one myself. :) I like the Ezm3 too but if I had one I'd always wish I had an Ezm1 instead when I looked at it.

There may be a delay in the final decision as another watch brand has joined the party.

I've taken a strong liking to the Damasko brand. Specifically three models:

    1. DA34
    2. DA36
    3. DA44

All three models use the ETA 2836-2 movement and the case measurements are 40mm. The DA34 and DA36 have a smooth bezel like the Sinn 556/856 and the DA44 has a ratcheting bezel like the Sinn 857. The prices are comparable with Sinn.

I'll make some phone calls Friday morning and have a definitive answer by Friday afternoon.

    Stay tuned

Called Greg at Watchmann - no da36 in stock. 4 to 6 week wait(I'm not a patient waiter).

Spoke with Anna at Timelessluxwatches(forum sponsor). She has one in stock. Think I'm gonna go for it
