    looking for Sinn 356 manual

    Hi,

I just bought a Sinn 356 used and it didnt include a manual.

Is there a place to download or could someone send me scan please?

I'm having trouble setting the date - an am wondering if its got a problem.

I runs and manual winding works, but if I pull the crown to the second position the day date moves a bit but not enough to change.

    what do the experts think?

    thanks

Hi Ral67. Welcome to the Sinn forum!!

Your 356 has a Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movement. A particular with this movement is that it can be damaged if you try to adjust the date if the hour hand is between the 9 o-clock pm position and the 3 am position.

Adjust the time to a point outside of that time frame and then adjust the date and then just advance or retard the time to the proper time. Some would say that it's best to adjust the time backwards. I do not know much about this though. I have done my adjustments both ways with no ill effects. Make sure that if you are advancing the time, you adjust the date to the day before so it turns to the proper date when the time is set.

Manuals can be found online. I don't have it handy but the link has been posted before here. If somebody can help this gentleman with the .pdf downloadable link for his watch, I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

Enjoy your 356. It's an absolute classic Sinn.

    cheers,
    Tim

    Check out:

    http://www.sinn-uhren.info/67.html

The red coloured links will open the manuals as pdf files in english language, "right click & save as..." to download also works.

    Nice watch, by the way!

Sorry to say, but that doesn't sound right at all. I think your watch needs to see a watch-doctor.

    Tim,

thanks very much. you saved my day

Of course I first happened to try it between 9-3
I'm just glad I didnt try to force it.

    Now it works.

I'm still thinking if I should bring it to a watchmaker for cleaning and inspection.
Screwing the crown feels "funny" - at least compared to my MarcelloC but I dont have a lot of experience with mechanical watches.

thanks. found it. I was looking for it on www.sinn.de which doesnt have manuals.

I love it. I think its one of the watches that look even better in reality than in the picture.

I've put it on the black Sinn leather butterfly strap, which I like more than the metal.

Anyone know what the going rate for a used 356 in good condition is ?
