that can be found in a vast number of 70's chronos. I happen to own an identical Stingray Roamer. There are also Stingray version that use a Valjoux 7733 movement. I think the val 72 is more desirable.

Take a look at http://chuckmaddoxwatch.blogspot.com...iscussion.html for some more info on the topic.

    Cheers,

I like the shape of the watch, and the tri-compax layout of the dial.
But the fact it came from your father must be more important.
They made quite a few models with the famous valjoux 72 inside, so there is a good chance there is one inside yours.
Roamer is very much alive, my dealer Horloge Platform Nederland is agent for Roamer, you can see a few models on his site.
They offer decent watches for a reasonable price.

    Cheers,

    Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!

Yes! Its nice to share something with the old man - and you know, be part of what he feels etc...

My parents were the ones who taught me about watches (mainly rolexes) and they have been nothing but supportive until 10 years ago when i started working... its something I'll carry with me for the rest of my life..

    .
The movement is encased in a self-contained sleeve which also includes the crystal … then the whole thing is fitted into the top that the bracelet is attached to. I think the design is called monocoque or something. Japy do something similar.
