    My First Sinn

I am the proud new owner of a 103 St Acrylic which arrived yesterday from from Watchbuys..

I've admired Sinn watches for a long time, and finally got around to getting one. Now I can really understand what all the excitement is about.

I was drawn to this particular model precisely because it doesn't have all of the the advanced technology, tegimented case, copper sulfate capsules, etc. that Sinn has developed. It's sort of a throwback to the watches Sinn made years ago, and I like the "vintage" qualities that this watch has; acrylic crystal, and aluminum bezel without click stops. If only it had a hand wound movement. Not that I have anything against the more advanced models; my nest Sinn is going to be an 857 UTC Tegimented. Its just that I thought that the 103 should be my first Sinn.

To me its an iconic Sinn, a throwback to the watches that made Sinn what it is today. Its almost like buying a NOS vintage watch. Maybe its all of those years wearing a 1977 Rolex 1680 Submariner, but I'm very attracted to these non high-tech watches. They have a certain quality that I really like.

I'll post pictures as soon as I have the time to take them.

Thumbs Up Re: My First Sinn

    You have good taste!

I have a 103 St Sa, which I love dearly. Funny thing, I like it for a lot of the same reasons you bought your 103, it's pretty much old school (with the exception of the synthetic Sapphire crystal).

That said, have you ever owned a Speedy Pro? That's my favorite chrono, totally old school!

The iconic watch of a generation (I vividly remember watching the moon landing on TV.) The Speedmaster Pro is a watch that I've wanted for a long time. I'll have to get around to buying one soon.
