my Sinn EZM-1 has a problem

i need to manually wind it every 24 to 48 hours (now i'm winding it every day as though it were a manual wound watch instead of an automatic) to keep it going. if i don't do this the watch will stop within 48 to 72 hours (this is the longest i've ever kept it "alive"...otherwise the watch works fine...what do you think's wrong?

Question Re: my Sinn EZM-1 has a problem

    Hi ilovewatches,

    Hmmm . . .

Do you mean the watch if you do not "move" the watch (i.e. putting on your wrist), the watch will stop between 48 to 72 hours? What seems to be the problem?

Actually, 72 hours sounded too long of the power reserver for the 5100 movement.

wearing it normally on my wrist

i mean that after i wind it, i wear it normally and expect the watch to act as an automatic should, however if i don't manually wind it every 24-48 hours it will stop within 3 days

ok, now I got what you meant. I assume you wear your watch normally. Hence I suspect the watch has winding problem. Why don't send it back to Sinn for inspection? I know it's a hassle, but what other choice do you have. It's still under warranty, right?

    no longer under warranty

even if it were still under warranty the watch would have to go all the way back to Germany. i will consider sending it to IWW instead

    Re: no longer under warranty

This is a known problem on the EZM 1. Mine does exactly the same and it is a pain in the backside. I think the only solution is to send to Sinn for a service. I seem to remember it was something to do with the lubrication used but couldn't be sure.

    Do you feel the rotor?

Would there be possible that they forgot to put the rotor into the watch

    Just kidding.

I think you should send it back to SINN and ask for a free T-Shirt for your trouble.
