Odd self-correcting bezel issue with my EZM13

The other day it was jammed. I gave it a firm twist and it came free, but I could feel it was tight from 12:00 to about 8:00 (counter clockwise, of course), then turned loosely back to 12:00. A day or two later it was turning very loosely all the way around the dial, and had developed quite a bit of "slop," almost a full second either way. I figured the bezel spring had broken.

It's still under Watchbuy's two year warranty, but I wasn't looking forward to shipping it off for repair.

Today I put it on, gave the bezel a turn, and it's just fine, maybe even a bit better than when I bought it. I guess something got jammed up in there, a piece of grit or something, worked itself out, and now I appreciate why Sinn keeps their bezels a little "loose" for just such situations.

Weird. Glad it seems to have worked itself out. Keep us posted if anything changes.

I’ve heard that dental floss can be used to extract grit from a bezel... might be worth trying.

Rotating the bezel under running water will usually clear most debris - the design that Sinn developed for their bezels was intended to be easy to flush this way.
I have had similar ‘jamb’ type issues in the past, but rotating under running water fixed it no problem.

That was my next move, but whatever was in there worked itself out on its own. Again, the skepticism I initially felt about the seemingly "loose" design is gone. It's brilliant.

The bezel resistance on my U212SDR I always felt had a bit to much play..but have now appreciated how easy to clear it is and stay spot on each increment set on.
    Very robust design
