Question on setting the hour hand on the 856

    Really two questions in one.

    (1) Does the hour hand set independently of the 24 hour (yellow) hand and
    (2) Does the hour hand set independent of the minute hand and seconds so that neither are disturbed if the hour hand is set back or forth when adjusting for a new time zone.

I have two GMT watches that will do precisely what I just described. I am assuming the 856 would be the same but maybe not.

Would really like to know the answers before I order an 856.

    Thanks in advance.

    Patrick

I believe on the 856 that it is the 24 hour hand that sets independently (and without stopping the minutes/seconds), rather than the normal hour hand. This is typical of un-modified ETA 2893 movements, as opposed to the Omega/Rolex movements that set as you describe.

Thanks to both of you for your speedy replys. Unfortunately, the 856 will not suit my particular needs...but it is better to know this upfront rather than order it and be disappointed.

    Agreed 100%, Patrick.

Since Omega modify the 2893 in the required fashion, there must be a way to get the movement right, but Sinn are very careful about movement modifications and have tended to stick with top-grade, but unmodified movements.
