    Replacement parts for limited editions?

I was lucky enough to snag a U1 Professional last year. It's still in great condition, but if something were to go wrong would finding replacement parts be a major issue?

The dial, domed crystal, minute hands, and bezel are all unique to the professional version.

I'm sure the same concern goes for all of the limited pieces, so what's the deal?

    Replacement parts for limited editions?

Manufacturers usually overrun parts supplies for these but they do run out.

Sinn will doubtless be able to source the parts from their suppliers if they don't have them in stock. In my experience Sinn aren't exactly speedy at sourcing parts but they get there eventually.

Hopefully your U1 will break soon so that they still have some replacement parts in stock. :-P

I've actually asked Watchbuys about this before and they say that usually for a number of years Sinn continues to have parts on hand but of course many years down the road the parts could become hard/impossible to source.

I don't see this as an issue. Sinn won't release parts to anybody that is not authorized to repair Sinn. If you are in the US you only have two options: 1. Send it to RGM in Lancaster, PA; 2. Send it to Sinn in Frankfurt. They will have the parts to fix it, but it will be expensive due to lack of competition.

The dial is the only thing truly unique to the professional. The crystal is from the U2. The bezel and hands just have a different paint scheme than the standard version.
