Show me your acrylic 356s', I need some convincing...

I've been looking at the 356 for a while now and just can't pull the trigger yet. I'm itching to get a new watch and one side of me thinks the 356 on a zulu would be my dream beater. Something I could wear everyday and not worry about dinging up or scratching all the time. But, the other side of me is thinking that I should be totally focused on saving for my next pam.

So the real question is should I give in to the temptation and go for the instant less fulfilling gratification or wait for the more substantial future gratification?

That said, BRING ON THE 356s'(especially with the natos on wrists)!!!

    Wes,

356 UTC on after market bracelet (which is on my wrist today)

356 SINN 40th Anniversary edition (original strap)

    Convincing enough?

But if you want to just get a beater, Hamilton has a model that looks just like the 356 which uses a Valjoux 7750 movement as well. . . pretty sure you can get one like 1/2 price of a SINN 356.

Thanks for all the pics guys, I'm totally convinced now that the 356 is going to be in my future. The dome and the simple lines of the 356 really speaks to me. I'm going to have to wait a bit though, since I moved on a pam 243 today.

Any opinions on the acrylic vs the dome sapphire??

IMO, I would just get the acrylic. The sapphire is $400 more and is AR-coated on the outside. This AR coating can and will show scratches, which defeats the benefit of getting sapphire. I'm pretty easy on my watches and have yet to put a single scratch on my acrylic. Scratches can easily be buffed out (use Polywatch).
