I'm thinking of buying a BUND strap
for my Sinn 142. Anyone out there
with a photo of theirs?
I don't have a 142 but the Heuer Pasadena has a somewhat similar shaped case which can give you an idea.
...here's my "Sinn 142" on a BUND-Strap:
I think the watch looks pretty cool with this strap - isn't it?
Welcome to our forum, brainbug.
Great intro, and I wish you many happy hours here!
Nice 142 on BUND, Brainbug. Really cool
BTW, does anyone know why is it called a BUND Strap? Just curious.
"Bund" denotes the federal level of government in Germany, and military issue items are marked thus. It is usually spelled in capital letters in engravings etc. As this type of strap is issued for the German airforce (don't know about the other service branches), it is commonly referred to as a "BUND", like the British G10 is called, somewhat incorrectly, a "NATO".Originally Posted by Kool Cat
Hi Brainbug. Welcome to the forum. Nice pic. That 142 does look smart on that bund!!
@all: Thanks a lot for your warm welcome. I really enjoy this beautiful place...
142 on BUND looks good
Here is a pic to add to Crusaders explanation of the derivation of "BUND".
On this watch back is the word Bundeseigentum which means "property of the state" or in conventional USA speak "government property". Other German military watches may have the word Bundeswehr meaning "Armed Forces of Germany" or just plain BUND.
