    Confused Sinn clasp problems

Anyone else here find Sinn clasps ridiculously difficult to open?

It keeps bending my nails and it's so annoying.
I used to own a Sinn556 bracelet version and the clasp on that one was difficult to open (I thought there was a defect)
Now my new Sinn103 clasp is also ridiculously difficult to open, I have to use a pocket knife as a lever to open the clasp.
This is driving me nuts! Makes me really miss my Seiko marinemaster clasp.

Surely, I can't be the only one with this issue?
    Any tips would be helpful.
    Also, another unrelated question...
When you set date and time on your watch how can you tell if it's am or pm?

    Thanks

The clasp on my U1 T is also very difficult to open. When it was new it was even more difficult. Mine has gotten better with time and use, but is still difficult. Cheers, Bill P.

have a sinn 144 st sa with the same H bracelet and i do agree its a pain in the a$$ sometimes to open. i find it slightly easier to undo the clasp towards the edge rather than in the middle.

This clasp is the archilles heel of my beautiful sinn. Why can't sinn do this right when $50 invictas do it right? Serious under-engineering geez
I still love the watch tho...

Seems like i am not the only one with this clasp issue. Whoever designed this clasp gotta have wolverine claws for nails. And this bracelet alone costs $300 dollars.

    Sinn clasp problems

I can't really comment on the clasp thing. My only Sinn bracelet is a (very) old NSA that's nothing like the current ones.

About the am-pm thing: set the time to 6:00 so there's no danger of messing with the date setting mech. Now adjust the date to 1 day before the present day. Now when you adjust the time, you can see when the date rolls over at midnight and adjust accordingly. If it's still morning just set the time. If it's afternoon, roll past 12:00 and you'll know that your watch is set to pm.

    Re: Sinn clasp problems

I have an 856 UTC with a bracelet that looks like yours, and I have no trouble opening it. Not at all unusually snug.

I am surprised, however that this is a simply friction clasp. I had an Oris with this cheap clasp style once. I understand Oris has changed theirs to a much better and more sophisticated design. In the past I have had several Citizens that had great clasps...at a tenth of the price of my Sinn. I certainly wish Sinn would up their game here and design a closure commiserate with the price point of their watches.

    Re: Sinn clasp problems

Have you tried to use your index finger and thumb tips to lift the clasp at a similar location to the latch release tabs on the Sieko? If you squeeze, it may make it worse, but lifting from the sides may help.
