Picture Sinn Military Type II and Type III

    Hi all,
Any discussions here about these? For me, it's like they sprang out of nowhere. Nice looking watches. The III is up on WB's site. I'm not a fan of the crown on the left, but otherwise nice chronograph. The II is nice aesthetically, especially with the date at 12. Wish it had central seconds hand though.

Nice one, but just can't convince myself to the date window at 12 O'Clock, it just does not look right. So I prefer Type II, but that's just me.
There are only two kinds of people in the world, the ones that own Sinn U1, U1W, U2, UX, U212 and U-Unlimited, and ones that don’t.

    From the guys at watchbuys:
Sinn Military Type III Limited Edition

    "A Surprise From Sinn
Every so often we get a surprise from Sinn that completely catches us off guard, and the new Limited Edition Military Type III is such a surprise.

We displayed this new model at the New York and Los Angeles Road Shows, and the feedback was strong.

Our friends at the Sinn distributorship in Japan are noted for designing a special Sinn military watch each year, and the Military III is the latest release in that series. We were fortunate that they allowed us to participate in their limited offering this year.

This watch is a limited edition of 300 pieces, most of which are restricted to the Japanese market. The number officially released in North America will be less than 10% of the total production, so this watch should be considered as rare."

    Hi Dennis,

The Type II and Type III are limited editions specified by Hotta,
the Sinn importer in Japan. There has been a little bit of
discussion of the Type II, starting in 2009. I don't know if there
are any left. Are you seeing a Type II for sale somewhere?

    Anyone going to Japan

    The Limited Editions of SINN

The Type III is a 2013 model, I think.

No...Not seeing one for sale. Will let you know if I do. Was trying to research the Type III and found the Type II as well, which I had somehow missed.

Re: Sinn Military Type II and Type III

The date at 12 does look different, but I like it for several reasons...
    First, it's symmetrical.
Second, the date changes at midnight, so why not have the date window there?
Third, I like the way Sinn did this in particular, with the date window matching the dimensions of the top hour marker. Classy.
All together I find that part of the design very aesthetically pleasing. I just wish the crown was on the right, and a central seconds hand.

Re: Sinn Military Type II and Type III

It arrived yesterday. Spectacular, especially on the Natostrapco Infantry 3 ring PVD zulu. I agree the date at 12 is a little different but overall this piece has all the usual amazing Sinn quality. The lume is marvelous and totally legible at 5-6AM. The only negative on it (besides the price) is the bezel pip has a weak lume so I might redo it at some point. I'm not sure what movement it has in it but it feels like a 2836.Name: IMG_6391.JPG

well done Peter: I saw it at the LA road show, cool piece, only 20 brought in by WB, I assume they're selling fast.
    Enjoy it!

I hope this gets the US AD interested in special versions geared to the US market.
