    Sinn U1 bezel types

    Hi all.

i have a question regarding a bezel on my Sinn U1. I got it used from another watch forum. But up close examination, i found out that my bezel is a little different from the bezel on other U1 models. It seems that on my U1 the bezel markings (all the markings) from 0-15 are flush with the surface of the bezel. The red (minute) markings have indentations (grooves) and are lower than the surface of the bezel. I have a Friend who has the Sinn U1, and i have found out that his U1 has the same indentations across the entire bezel, all the minute markings (red and black), including numbers have this indentations. Question for the owners of Sinn U1, do you also have this type of bezel where the bezel markings from 0-15 are flush with the surface?

To help you, here is a few shots from my bezel to see what i'm talking about:

    Hi John,

    Here is my guess.

I don't know how uniformly the bezel is embossed prior to hardening.
Some of the marks may be shallower than others. Or the marks on
your bezel received a better black paint fill than some other bezels.
I have an SDR bezel with the red marks filled flush with the surface.

    Thanks,

That is weird. I would write an email to Sinn, they have pretty good customer service and can probably help you with finding an answer.

Unless there is a problem, without seeing the watch what
might Sinn say? "Send in the watch and we'll take a look".

Just FYI, my 0-15 minute marks are indented.

Maybe your bezel is from a very early (or late) revision that only painted on the 0-15 marks?
Is there any indentation at all from 0-15 (even if very slight)?

No, all the numbers and minute marks have no indentation and they are fully fulled. All the numbers on the bezel have no indentations, only the red minute marks have indentations.

I think they all vary quite a lot, my SDR has indented red markings

    Re: Sinn U1 bezel types

So i contacted Sinn, and here is what they told me:

You are right, the bezels are different from each other. The difference is the indentations.

Please be informed that we reserve the right to do changes in the course of development and improvement in your interest explicitly.
That’s why you may find sometimes small changes at some details.

They also checked my serial number, and everything appears to be genuine. So it seems that this is one of the bezel types for U1
