    Sinn U1 movement - SW200 or ETA2824 ?

Can someone tell me if the U1 has the ETA 2824 or SW200 movement in it? Has it changed over the years, if so, when did they change it?
    Thanks!

After researching this a bit (sorry, new to the Sinn world), it looks like Sinn changed to the SW200 sometime mid-2013 or so. Unless someone knows different, no need to address.

You've answered your own question. Swatch owns ETA and will now only supply ETA movements to the watch companies they own. That's why you see lots of watch companies in recent times changing from ETA to other movements.

Both movement would perform equally good, and I'be heard that some parts are interchangeable.

I have the version with the SW-200 movement. So far, time keeping and performance have been great. I do notice that the winding is not as smooth as some of my ETA movements, but that is certainly not a deal breaker.

Thanks for confirmation all. Don't mind the SW200 at all as I have had at least one in the past and seemed to work just fine. In my search for a U1 I found some specifying ETA and some SW200 so was just wondering when they switched.

Not quite. Eta will still supply major brands such as breitling iwc tudor etc

They are stopping supply to smaller boutique brands such as sinn and doxa

Just wanted to clear that up

Not quite as well. Once contractual agreements with watch companies end ETA will not have to supply these companies and most probably wont. Also i would not call Doxa or Sinn Boutique brands.
Just wanted to clear that up also.

Everyones interpretation of a Boutique brand varies. The most common is- A small independant brand selling small runs of watches via the internet and have no actual shops to sell their stock.
You can buy Doxa's in watch shops in Europe and Asia, but not the USA.
You can buy Sinns also here in Europe, Asia and the USA. Both brands are not internet only sellers.
Brands classed as Boutique include- Boschett, Kemner,Steinhart and UTS and many more.
Why did ETA have a problem with the 'small Boutique brands'? Were they forced to sell to them? I think not. If ETA didn't want to sell to them they are quite capable of saying no.
Swatch may or may not let ETA supply some watch manufacturers but look at Panerai, a big company now moving on to using in-house movements who in the past used a lot of ETA movements.

Bought mine new from Germany last September and it has the SW movement. Time keeping has been exceptional and I'm extremely pleased.
