Sinn U2 captive bezel no longer captive

So out of the blue, without any kind of knocks or forces applied to it, the bezel on my U2 is no longer captive and it can be rotated in both ways, with little force.

Is this a known issue? Does anyone have an idea if it could be fixed by a local watchmaker?

edit: I guess it might still be captive, but it clearly rotates in both ways a lot more easier

I think the term captive refers to the fact it can't physically fall off, nothing to do with rotation.

Yes, as I mentioned in the edit, but the real issue is that the bezel now rotates both ways.

Sounds like your bezel ratchet spring has broken, although it's possible that there is a build up of dirt or something that prevents the spring from engaging. It's simple to remove the bezel with a very small screw driver, just be careful not to lose the screws. If the spring is broken you will likely have to get a new one from Sinn.

As I recall the screws don't have to come out, just back the screws at 10, 2, and 6 out and leave them in the bezel, and lift it straight off.

it can require a bit of wiggling and pushing after the tiny screws are backed out: mine took awhile to come loose.
