    Sinn UX questions....

Hi, newbie here. I am thinking of buying a Sinn UX 2B on bracelet. Am I opening myself up to future maintenance headaches with this watch? I know there were issue before with the oil filled cases from Sinn. Also, is the bracelet tengimented steel? Thank you.

The UX has to go back to Germany for battery changes.
Having said that, the battery life is something like 7 years and they will change the oil and I believe the hands when it goes back for service.

I think the Sinn UX bracelet does not receive the Tegiment treatment,
nor does the case. Only the bezel is Tegimented.

We have not been seeing complaints about the Sinn UX. I guess people
are happy with their watches. The return UPS shipping from Germany is
relatively expensive. However, I am pretty sure you don't keep watches
long enough for the battery change to be a concern. I think you could
just buy the watch and let the next owner worry about the battery change.

    Thanks,

the hands and dial were changed on the early hydro models, when the oil deteriorated the dial/hands. The current formulation does not affect them, so you're good to go.

You're right rationaltime, I always flip my watches. However, one day this trend will stop and the Sinn UX may just be the watch to do it. I just don't want any bubbles in the oil filled case. Thank you all who have replied to my post.

If you get a bubble it isn't a problem. Having said that, mine is an early one and it has been flawless with the exception of the oil discoloration. It actually looks like a patina on the hands and dial. So for now, I'm cool with it. New ones will not have this issue. The UX is the watch that ended my years of flipping... It is that good.

Me too. I have and had many fine tool watches. The UX is my clear favorite.

Note that you can request that the UX case be tegimented. You can also buy a tegimented bracelet instead of the regular one. Of course, this comes at an additional cost.

As for bubbles, there have been a few cases of permanent bubbles developing that require servicing from Sinn Germany, but in general the expandable watch case back works well to prevent bubbles from forming as the temperature changes.

I have had a UX for 2 years. Had an issue with a bubble forming last Christmas. $65 and the issue was fixed under warrantee ( live in Oz bought in uk). Will never get rid of this watch. Pick up and go when in a rush.
