Sinn142 vs Sinn142ti Help? Input needed...

    Hello,

Wondering if I can get opinions on the Sinn142ti vs the steel option, particularly if someone has owned both.

I have owned a ti watch before and liked some properties but was lukewarm about others, have also read that titanium really shows its age.

Any opinions or information is appreciated.

    Thanks
    Charles

You want to buy it used? (It´s out of production)
What country are you living in?
The 142 II is brand new.

The later steel 142s came with 80'000 A/m antimagnetic protection, IIRC, while the titanium version did not have that rating.

I prefer the Ti version only in terms of lightness (this is a big watch) however if you are looking for a Lemania 5100 as opposed to the new issue then its going to be grab what you can get.

Unless you have a secret stash :-D

    Hello,

I should have been a little clearer, that's what happens when I try to send a quick post out from work...

Currently have (as Lemania 5100's) a ss B&R Space1 (Sinn142), a ss Tutima Nato chrono, and a Fortis Cosmonaut Chrono Diver.

With the Space1 and the Tutima I find (especially on hot days) they sometimes seem a little heavy (or at least I notice them more). Thought about looking for a Sinn142ti (don't currently have a Sinn, love the look/features of the 142, ti would be lighter), but don't know if the ti will have the same...?

Concerns are the look of ti as it ages (had read it dulls/goes a darker grey), scratches (softer metal, no coating, big watch easily banged), just won't feel right (had a titanium Seiko Alpinist was too light, almost plastic like).

Hence I am looking for input from those who might have a Sinn142ti or the elusive individual that might have both...

Thanks for the input so far and any more...

    All the best,

    Charles

    Hello,

I have 3 142s, if I had to get rid of 2watches (which I don´t) I would keep the Ti Ar . Why? The 142 black is too special and heavy. The normal steel was not with Dry Tech (I like the dry tech :gold )
But I ask myself where do you want to get a 142, specially when you are focused on a special 142 model? :-S

    here is my 142 gang

    Hello Koolcat...

They do come available from time to time, just have to keep an eye out (and be patient) I guess...

    Thanks for your input,

Any comments on how the ti has held up?

    Thanks
