Sudden increase in accuracy - Sinn U1

Hello everybody. I've owned this Sinn U1T since July last year. It's always been +6/7sec a day since day 1.

Suddenly yesterday I noticed that basically overnight (or maybe the 2-3 days I didnt check), it's somewhere between +1/2 sec a day!

    How would that be possible?

I've heard about break-in time, but having not noticed a difference all these months I was thinking it was not present on my watch.

Does break-in come in all of a sudden like that? Not even gradually over time?

Have you been resting it differently overnight? Depending on the side it rests on it could cause it to gain or lose more time

I haven't done anything differently compared to what I have been doing for months. At night I either rest it face up on the side table, or I just wear it while I sleep. In both cases it's +1/2 sec/d now.

I'm not complaining as that's amazingly accurate, I just don't know how this all works and if it's going to stay like this!

A watch is usually bedded in after the first month of use. You may notice a change in performance or you may not.

A sure sign, for unknown reasons, that your watch needs servicing. Keep track of its weekly derived average daily rate. More than likely it will get progressively "less accurate". At least that is my experience with any number of ETA/Selita 3 hand movements.

    Good luck with your watch.

Wow. I hesitate to think that this is true, as it's only 8 months old. Way waaaay too early for a service.

I'll keep and eye on it as it's still covered by warranty. It's been steady at +1/2 a day though for the past 3 days!

Maybe I should be more happy about it than worried :P

Doubtful it needs a service. But, as mentioned, keep an eye on it and if it keeps the general downward trend then something may be up. It would be a warranty thing for sure at that age.
    Too many flipped...
