    U1 Questions -Noob here

Hi. I am new to Sinn and dive watches and I have not been able to find answers to some of my questions.

    1. How thick is the crystal on the U1?
    2. Does the U1 use the regular ETA movement or the higher end 2824 that has a shock absorber?
    3. Does the watch need to be serviced every year to stay water resistant (WR) for diving?
    4. Also, what does WR really mean in terms of 50, 100, 200, 300 etc.. and does it really translate to how deep you can go?

    Thanks.

4mm with Anti Reflective Coating on both surfaces.

Regular ETA 2824-2 with antimagnetic shielding to comply with the DIN 8309 standard and shock resistant in compliance with the DIN 8308 standard.

Pressure tested yearly and serviced if it fails.

Yes, this watch is rated to 1000 meters and tested to atleast 10% beyond that.

The U1 is great. Excellent engineering and construction, and a dial and hands to die for. If you like it and the price is in your budget, it's a heck of a watch.
