    U1 Rubber and Fabric straps

I've managed to build up a selection of both rubber and fabric straps to complement my U1 SDR.

Over the past couple of months they have all been worn for work and leisure, day and night; exposed to all manner of dirt, water, sweat and who knows what.

During the next few posts, I'll describe my experiences with each as I narrow down my choice for the best alrounder.

Naturally, its all going to be very subjective.

The test subjects, in no particular order are:
    Sinn Silicon with large clasp
    Crafter Blue CB01 (iso-style)
    Isofrane
    Hirsch Robby
    Tudor Nato
    Zulu Diver Nato
    NATO
    Erikas Original MN

Particularly interested in your thoughts/experiences with the Hirsch - been thinking of trying one of those out but think the OEM rubber/clasp combo will win.

I think this strap looks great on the U1 and it does a decent job of filling the void around the watch case. Pretty comfortable around the wrist with good breathabity due to all those tiny holes and the ridges underneath put it right up there.
My only niggles are that its quite rigid; the short side tries to stand up straight pulling the watch to one side, (You can see this in the last two pictures) and, my ideal fastening seems to fall between the set holes which are 7mm edge to edge.

That looks pretty sharp. Will it “break in”?

Try this...strap the watch on 'upside down' so that the buckle side would end up being where the 6 o'clock position would be (like in your pictures). I've found that my U1, and other watches, sit better on my wrist when I reverse the strap.

Ok, so it's not an Isofrane even if the syling is similar.

This is actually quite an impressive strap, especially considering its price point.

Out of the box it has that faint vanilla smell that you'll either like or not. Im not sure if it will fade in time, but it's not something that bothers me.

A very well made strap and comfortable that tapers in both width and thickness from lug to buckle. As a result it has a lower profile under the wrist and allows a cuff to slide easier over it.

The only downsides for me are; those square holes are a bit too large in my opinion and the strap keeper feels and looks like a cheap afterthought.

Otherwise a very comfortable and well priced 'Iso-like'

Ok, so its not a NATO in the true sense, but there you go.

Very highly regarded and well up there with the very best quality NATO straps this really is a soft and extremely adjustable fabric strap. In its gray offering, it is a really good match with the U1

I'd say its only down side is having to fasten it quite tightly to prevent the U1 from bouncing around.
