    U212 Incredible-ness

Size: 716.4 KBAs a young boy, my Grandfather told me that a Man always has a pocket knife and a good watch on him everyday. I’ve adheard like Gorilla glue to that advice ever since. My newest acquisition: Sinn U212 EZM 16. Countless hours of research of a multitude of brands over the span of a year, seeking for my perfect mechanical rhino tuff, but classy timepiece. I’m not disappointed. It’s big but no bigger then my Casio protrek 3500 and fits my 7.25” wrist like a dream. Trends towards smaller watches be damned as big watches that are 45-47mm are for me.

Ive had flashy Rolex subs, Omega planet oceans, seikos, casios and they all have their place but for the money, damn this is a fantasticly impressive watch. Almost perfect.

    My criteria:

Classy and smart looking and can be worn with a button up shirt

    45mm or above

easy to read as I’m almost 50 and hard to see things close anymore.

    antimagnetic because i fly often

    Shock resistant

    decent lume

    not a black coated watch

    waterproof

    22mm or wider band width

    dive bezel for timing

    $3000 limit

    tuff as nails

    Quality! Pride of ownership quality.

movement that doesn’t cost a fortune to service but is reliable and accurate.

    Extra helping of testosterone

When some a wild-eyed 8 foot tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the bar room wall and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asked you if you’ve paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye and you remember what ol’ Jack Burton always says at a time like that: Have you paid your dues Jack? “Yessir the check is in the mail”

    Current lineup: ROLEX 126600 Sea-Dweller red-Line. Casio GPR-B1000. Seiko SKX007. Casio PRW-2500. Casio PAW-1500.

I have long thought this is the best looking of the Sinn tool watches. If there was a way to try on before I buy, this may have been the watch I bought.
The 3 calendar days to return to Watchbuys makes the game a little difficult. I would like to try on, think about it, then try on, but i digress.

Thank you for sharing your watch and story. Best wishes with it. Catch us up in a month or so with how it is running.

If a Sinn is big, it's big for a reason, be it legibility or toughness. That 212 is awesome, I've got to stop checking out the Sinn forum, too many of my American $ are going to Frankfurt.

    Re: U212 Incredible-ness

If I could make one change to mine it would be to definitely have more crown protection.
It does make me leave it on shore a lot more than I'd like to as it's such a great size crown size and in the right position ...just needs more than where its located...
That being said, its done thousands of hours on the wrist and no issue...just something Sinn may consider in future.
