Under my tree late at night with my U2..

Hi guys, it's been a while since I've put up a lifestyle thing with my U2. Last winter I believe with my walks in the bush at -30c.

For those of you guys who haven't seen any mentioning of it, I love to spend as much time as possible driving my 1968 firebird and sitting under my two huge drooping spruce trees in the backyard. In regards to the backyard lounging thing, I find it very peaceful. I do have many nights where I can't sleep as a result of knee and back pain from a motorcycle accident 5 years ago, so on these beautiful summer nights which seemed so far away when winter had it's icy grips on us, when sleep can seem impossible to achieve, I can be found sitting there sipping on a bottle of Molson Canadian and listening to the serenade of the coleman propane lantern hanging in the tree. I now can be found out there on rainy nights too as I have set up a primitive tarp to keep the rain off. I have it hanging from wire hooks from the larger branches. A local canvas shop is making a custom tarp for me out of see thru polyethylene and it will be ready in a week or so but until then this will do.

I usually like to wear my U2 when I'm out there as a quick glance will give me the time. I do tend to drift off to sleep most nights out there and wake up at 4:30ish am with the birds. My U2 marks the time for me and seems to fit the bushy feel quite well. As mentioned before, it has become sort of standard wear for me, like my ole brown carhartt bib overall and my leatheman wave.

I snapped a few shots from my little sanctuary under the trees with my U2. I thought some of you might enjoy them. I do love to snap pics of the U2 in its natural environment, outdoors with natural light and colour.

Hope you enjoy, there's another rain storm approaching and I want to go spend some more time under my trees. I'll have a beer for you guys!!

Here's to all you Sinn lovers, hope you have a pleasant day!!

p.s. I wanted to use the thumbs but the manage attachment thing isn't working right now.

Hi Marcus, funny thing is that mosquitos here don't like the smell of spruce, blackflies either. It's very rare to see flies under the tree. A few moths flying around the lantern, but not too many flies.

    Thanks! and thanks Bricktop!

I must admit that the thought of driving around in a nice Firebird or sitting under an old tree with a nice Sinn on the wrist and a cool beer in my hand sounds damn great.... I must admit that I'm a bit envious now ;)

Hi, I'm sitting out under the trees now, waiting for it to start raining, typing this out on a blackberry. The daylight will be fast approaching.

Yes, all of that is the great part, but with every great thing, there is a price to pay and my price for all this free time is tendered with pain and sleepless nights, but it is fun to sit out here and I do consider myself fortunate to be around to enjoy this.

After close to 2000 hours of wear time, the U2 and I are still enjoying our honeymoon.

    Oooh, it's starting to rain.

Take care Brick top. BTW, Snatch is one of my all time favourite movies.

    Cheers.

Hey Tim. I see you're wearing the U2 more on the SS bracelet now that it's summer. How do you like the bracelet? I ordered one for my U2 yesterday and should have it on Wednesday.
