1994 Zenith Mark IV El Primero De Luca Panda

After being tied up in a delivery backlog for some time...my first Panda (ever) has arrived.

A 1994 Zenith De Luca Mark IV. Panda dial with screw down crown and pushers.

I am extremely happy with it. Zenith just does it for me. Horological significance, value, design and pedigree.

It is unbelievable shape for a 26 year old watch. No papers or box, but it was just serviced - and so far - it is working perfectly. The bezel has some wear - but I feel it works for the vintage nature of the watch - at least that is what I am telling myself lol. Even the bracelet is in great shape. Price was amazing for the condition.

    Really enjoying the watch!

Quick video and a few pictures...Cheers!

Thank-you SV - it is my first Panda of any watch...I know this is a Zenith page - but I really don't know another Panda out there at this price point ~4K USD - that you can get a Panda with a brand of this horological significance, 36000 VpH and build quality?

I was looking at the reverse panda of this watch - a Mark II - but I found water damage on the subdials. I am very pleased I waited. There is a reverse panda Mark IV that I really want too knowing how I feel about this watch - but I have a Rainbow black dial with papers and box incoming - so I am holding off. For the dollar - they are just too hard to resist - it almost doesn't feel right.

    Almost.

According to Chrono24 as they track interest for all of the watches - Zenith is on the rise throughout their lineup. Good to see...and finally. But it makes me want to pick up a few more. I have a black dial Rainbow with box and papers on order...that reverse panda looks so good (also a Mark IV with screw down pushers and crown).

The quality is so high...I have been wearing the panda since I got this watch. They just suit me. Horological significance and amazing engineering for less than most entry level luxury watches...it's baffling.
