    Another vintage

    Dear All,

I found another vintage Zenith watch. It was such a reasonable price, I could’nt resist !
    Here it is :

It is in a very good shape, only the inside perimeter groove has suffered a bit of oxydation.
Obviously, the crown is not original.
    Diameter is close to 35mm.

I discovered the watch is working allright and is very very accurate ..! to my astonishment ! After three days observation, on the wrist, only a few seconds deviation .. at the moment, it is actually within COSC …
The service I intended to get done can wait !

I dont know how old it is .. the movement bears the reference n° 590708, the back the n°784718.
    Not sure about the movement either : 106 ? 126 ?
I suppose thus the watch is from early 50’ties .. ?

    Thank you for your attention,

Congratulations! It is indeed a Cal. 106, more precisely a Cal. 106-6, i.e. with Incabloc shock proofing. The serial number shows that it was assembled in Zenith's dependency in Besancon. sempervivens might be able to give you a precise date of manufacture but I'd say it's from the 1950s.

Congrats from m2. Indeed, Zenith Besançon made fine watches. I estimate this was produced late 1950's, ca. 1957/58.
