    Auction I followed today

I don't know if this type of information is relevant, if not let me know.
Today I followed an auction at https://auctions.watchesofknightsbridge.com/auctions/ (that I found by chance) where several Zeniths were for sale. I got interested in particular in this Zenith https://auctions.watchesofknightsbri...5-ab6a0110afae which had an estimate of £3000-£4000 and which sold for £3800 (the buyer's premium was 24%, so the buyer will pay £4712).
I am, I must say, surprised with the prices these watches command.

Especially so since it looks like a redial. A good redial but the "ZENITH" font is wrong.....

A nice classic steel cal 135. it's not new that these fetch fair prices. Especially since it looks in good original condition. I don't think it's a redial, the Zenith font seems correct and matches other examples.

Hmmmmm. Of all the Zenith Cal. 135s I have seen (let alone all the other Zeniths of around that time), almost none have such dramatic serifs on the "N" in "ZENITH". Only one in Rössler (p. 127) - and the question would then be whether that one's a redial too. So granted: possible, but it would at the very least be unusual.

That 135 is a nice one. I don’t believe it was a re dial. It went for a good price but I take these auctions with a grain of salt so to speak. A lot of the watches sold right at the opening bid. I’ve seen items at auction turn up a couple of months later when they were supposedly sold so I would take a wait and see attitude. With the current state of things, I think a lot of buyers are holding on to cash.
