New reference 38 mm EL PRIMERO chronograph does not start

    Hi,

I have the newest reference 38 mm El primero and cannot start the chronograph. I was keeping the chrono second hand paused at the 30 second mark for few days and today I resetted the chronograph, the chrono second hand returned to zero and when I pressed the 2 o`clock pusher it clicked but the chrono second hand did not move. Now the 2 o`clock pusher seems a bit pushed in and it doensn`t have have any recoil. I don`t see any loose/broken parts. What do you guys think, could I wear the watch in the following days since I will only be able to go to an AD in 1 week, or I should leave it to rest? Has anyone had similar issue and does anyone know if this is covered by the warranty?

    Best regards,

I'm sorry that things didn't work out for you with what is actually a wonderful watch. It is probaly jammed up somewhere along the line. It need not be broken but it looks like the chronograph mechanism wasn't adjusted properly from the start (with the rest of the watch, you just assemble and then regulate the watch, with a chronograph, you need to adjust the interplay of the parts after assembly). The bottom line is that it will unfortunately have to be seen to by a professional watchmaker. The rest of the watch should not be affected in the interim but the rate (gaining/losing time) may be worse than it should be.
