New Zenith El Primero Chronograph Owner

I’m new to the forum. Just picked up this black dial El Primero Chronograph, Ref. 03.2040.400/21.C496. I haven’t seen much of this particular piece out there “in the wild” but I’m really loving it! Swapped out the factory black strap in favor of this brown horned- backed alligator. Whatcha all think? Thanks for the opinions.

Not seen that colour dial before, but it’s very nice. Like the strap too, especially that it is matt-ish, rather than high gloss.

Congrats on a fantastic piece. I had a close brother to this specific watch, the El Primero Captain Chronograph. These are well made watches, great details all around, you could say a perfect chrono.

    Enjoy it!

Thanks. The dial is really lovely and appears to be lacquer. The indices are all highly polished and the sub dials and minute track are silver, rather than white. I really like the contrast of the black/brown.

I saw Tim Mosso do a review on your Captain Chronograph and really liked it as well. I almost pulled the trigger on the tri-colored variant but this one really spoke to me. Elegant yet sporty as well. My old stomping grounds, Santa Monica...enjoy the sunshine!

Welcome to Watchuseek and congratulations! Yes, I also think that the light brown strap is an improvement - it adds some colour to the watch.

Well done! That is a new model to me as well. Looks great, and you can't go wrong with the quality of a Zenith El Primero, both in movement and craftsmanship. I think your strap looks great, especially with that matte finish. Always like the contrast of the brown with black/white.

Congratulations and welcome the Zenith forum.

    Cheers,
    Carl
