Rubber strap for the 38mm El Primero

    Hi all!

Hope your day is going alright. :)

I would like some assistance in order to determine what kind of rubber strap would go well with my Zenith El Primero 38mm (Silver dial). I got it on the OEM leather strap and the bracelet, but would like to have a rubber strap as well.

I am just wondering how I could go about to be certain that a rubber strap will fit my watch. The lug width is 19mm, but is there any other dimension I should consider? For example curved end on the strap, curved links, the space between outermost point of the lug to the case?

I am considering the following strap from Uncleseiko (19mm).

So basically I am just wondering, will all 19mm rubber strap fit the watch, or is there a certain type of straps that only will fit the lugs?

I appreciate any help I can get.

    Thank you!

The fact that the springbars are curved means you could probably go up to 20mm on a strap. FWIW I’ve only used 19mm leather straps on mine (OEM and aftermarket). I haven’t put a rubber strap on mine. Post pics when you do! Peace

check out the Hirsch straps that are rubber inside, with leather on the outside:

I personally have not handled the El Primero, but based on the millions of photos of the watch I've seen, the UncleSeiko rubber strap should fit just fine! I am using a Barton Sillione band on my Rado Captain Cook with a 19mm lug width and it's perfect!

I have a bunch of Barton Elite Silicones and they work well on the EP. They are slightly snug up against the case using the straight spring bars, but they are so supple and bouncy that I don't see them wearing at all due to the contact. Definitely the most comfortable strap I own because they have a bit of stretch to them, meaning they always fit perfectly. Here is one in the Flatwater blue color:

Can you post some pics of the other Barton colors you have? Love the quick release pins on these. I have a Barton on my Seiko and it's the best rubber strap I've worn. So I'm looking to get one to replace the shiny bracelet on mine, maybe the smoke gray or navy blue.

Sure thing, here is a gray one on my Sub (20mm):

And this is an orange one on my Dive Master 500 (19mm):

I also have a black one in 19mm but don't have a pic of that one handy. Maybe this weekend I'll put that one on the EP to see how it looks.

Thanks for that! The gray looks great on the sub. Can you try the gray on the EP as well?
