    Vintage Zenith 126-5 and 810

    Hi,
This week I have bought those two Zenith watches. Both got jumbo cases. One is with caliber 126-5 and another is with caliber 810. I was surprised to find such a small movement. I was expecting another one.
Concerning cal 810 I cannot find much information. Can someone help me and give me more information about it?

Re: Vintage Zenith 126-5 and 810

Welcome to the Watchuseek Zenith forum and congratulations on two fine watches. The Cal. 810 looks like an older redial since the "Zenith" script is a little irregular and the subseconds on the subdial are a little sloppy but no matter (providing you know and accept the fact). The Cal. 126-5 (the "-5" stands for the central seconds conversion) is from ca. 1952.

The Cal. 810 is another in house calibre, although you don't see it often. It was made between 1944 and 1955 in only 34,480 pieces according to the Zenith lists and yours appears to have a serial number 389xxxx which would place it in 1951. You have the 810-6 version (the "-6" stands for Incabloc shock protection).

Thank you. This small movement looks like for women and I was expecting something else. Price for both was very attractive and this was the reason why I have purchase them. It was spontaneous decision.
