Vintage Zenith - Identification and Information

    Hi Forum,

I got this beautiful piece some weeks ago and I'd like to share it with you.
Can someone help me to identify more details and give me more information about it?
    Caliber? Year? and so forth.

Thanks and I hope you like it as much as I do :)

Welcome to the forum and congratulations with your Zenith from ca. mid 1970's, it should have a model number on the back, which will help to identify the caliber.

Possibly a Cal. 405 (not the El Primero flyback, that from Movado:

...but with that logo, which makes it a little later, it's more likely to be a Cal. 34.5 (which is actually a high beat ETA 2832:

    bidfun-db Archiv: Uhrwerke: ETA 2832).

    Thanks

yes the serial number says the following.

    01-0030-345

is that an ETA inside? Does anyone know the built year?

    Thank you

Yes, as Hartmut said, Zenith cal 34.5 or 345 is actually ETA 2832, an interesting high beat movement with 36000 bph. The same movement was also used for a few Zenith Defy's in 1974-76.

I couldn't find your exact watch in the 1974-76 catalog, but there are similar watches in that period. So most likely your watch was produced in that same period, but not mentioned in the catalog.

Hope this helps and that you may further enjoy it.

Thanks for your information. One more question. The buckle isn’t original zenith, the leather strap is. So does anyone know a good source where I can buy the original buckle for the zenith? Thanks

I would try fleabay. The original one of that era should have the same logo as on the dial.
