I was wearing mine today too - also on a brown strap. I have now switched to something with a little more lume.....
I thought the brown strap looked good next to my Cubans, lol.
Herr Richter, speaking of the lume... I have a "love/hate" thing for this watch. When I hold it and look at its face and movement and details - it's close to perfection. The ideal of a classy, classic, versatile timepiece. But when it comes to using it - legibility is really lacking. Forget about the Day/Month microscopic windows and no lume at all, but even silver on silver hands are hard to read with my 51 years old eyes(with glasses) in less than perfect lighting conditions. Is your experience with yours somewhat similar?
I have personally got to the stage where I need glasses and could do with the sort that correct my long sightedness (the current ones only correct my astigmatism). I can scarcely read the date and have given up on the day-of-the-week and month features long a go. However, I can still read the moonphase - and I never really had any problems with reading the time. At least not during the day. The faceted hands make reading the time on this rather easier than one might think. As a result, I never even considered selling this watch. I love the classic 1950s chronos with their dauphin hands (though some of those had lume) and I think this one matches them to a tee, except possibly in colour (the originals were usually gold or gold plated).
Zenith cal 143-6 chronograph ca. 1952.
Vanitas vanitatum et omnia vanitas, praeter ...
