Reducing Polish on Ocean One 39?

I received a new Ocean One 39 with green bezel a few weeks ago. Very impressed, the first week it only lost 15 seconds. The size fits my 6.5" wrist well. The only thing I don't like is the shiny metal part of the bezel. Maybe they made that more blingly because the face itself isn't glossy like other divers? I read of someone on the forum who used a Esslinger scratch pen to dull the shine.

Thoughts? Good idea or bad? I know it may reduce the value but if I'm keeping it I don't care.

For clarity, you mean the bezel (the part the ceramic insert is seated in) and not the case sides?

Yes, the bezel, not the case sides. The larger Steinhart dive watches don't have this polished bezel.

This is the reason why I dont like the 39mm version. Size is perfect but the polished bezel looks terrible IMO. Search for a topic here where someone used sandpaper to brush the case of his omega. It turned out to be amazing.

Will take a look. That's the nice thing about an inexpensive watch, you can experiment on it.

IMO the shiny bezel is fit to caramic insert!

Each to their own but I find no problem with it at all.

Please posts pics if it works. I guess ceramic is too tough for scotchbrite pad? Maybe wet/dry sandpaper? A high grit count (1000+) might knock the shine off an leave matte finish without gouging it.
