Basel Fair 2006 - Nautica launches its brilliant new collection of men’s watches under a fitting name—Spettacolare. Riding a wave of success, the watch brand’s vision and energy are exhibited in this spectacular fusion of vintage elements with innovative design.
The collection’s iconic timepiece is the bold two tiered flip which features two titanium cases, stacked together and opening on a patent-pending pivot built into the case design. The top case incorporates magnificent elements of vintage nautical instrumentation, like the tachymeter on the inner bezel wall, three-eye chronograph detail, the porthole screw, and luminescent hands. A domed crystal and coin edged bezel draw attention to the beautifully etched face. The unique dial design draws inspiration from vintage weather predicting instrumentation. Spettacolare’s bottom case features a three-hand analog movement with a Big Date and 24 hr GMT flyback function. The watch finishes with matching black cabochon crowns on both cases and red highlights on the pushers and second hand to add a touch of adventure. The watch is water resistant to 100M/330FT.
For the less adventurous, Nautica offers three handsome single case versions that capture the spirit of Spettacolare by integrating elements from both the top and bottom cases. The collection is available in 44mm and 45mm diameter sizes. Strap color options include black, brown or sand in a luxury thick croco leather.
“Spettacolare is just a breathtakingly beautiful collection of watches,” states Scott Wolfe, International Brand Manager for Nautica watches. “The flip version is fast becoming an icon for Nautica brand watches.”
