That looks about right. It may be the camera angle, but check that the minute ticks line up to the center of the hour markers. If all else checks out, that could be a fair value around $300 these days.

The guy who serviced my 6309 last year told me upon picking it up post service, "Now, put it on and never take it off." I haven't listened to him but maybe I should.

    Hi everybody,

trying to buy my first vintage Seiko and found this nice 6309-7290. The seller claims that except for the (domed?) crystal, the watch is all original.
What do the Seiko specialists here think? Dial original? 12h Marker seems not enough 'pointy' to me?

That dial looks wrong in a couple ways. The non-existent space after the 150m is a clue.

Re: HOW TO BUY A SEIKO 6309 DIVER - A Collector's Buying Guide

    Hi all,
First post. Have enjoyed Japanese culture for so long and just now starting to get into Seiko, shame but better late than never. Read the posts, buying guides, articles and whatnot but has been difficult to navigate the sheer variety of SKUs. I was out for a 6309 diver, but could not find anything in good shape not coming from India or expensive (above 300 euros). Any ideias on what how i can add a nice piece, either recent or easier to find on the Turtle style with black and blue combination?

^ You can buy a brand new reissue (now in two sizes!) of the turtle for about 300 euro. Good examples of original vintage are climbing in price quite quickly - expect to pay about 500 euros or more now to get one that is "correct."

I have just got myself a 1981, I'm going to update here with pics as soon as it arrives, I'm hoping it's all original, far from mint but it looks hopeful.
