First impression: it's a quartz?! sure, but a hell of a quartz! 1)omega in-house movement cal.1343 2) certified chronometer 3) omega's top line -constellation. Can it get better for a quartz watch? not really IMO. Omega Constellation Chronometer Quartz, the cosc norm for these is "Average daily rate at 23 °C: ±0.07s", well pretty impressive for an analog watch, and even for a digital. Don't ask me if it makes sense to send an accurate quartz watch for chronometer certification but I guess it was part of the prestige of the constellation line and can only imagine its price in 1977. Ref. is 398.0849. Watch works well as it should, case was never polished, dial and hands in a nice preserved condition as you can see on the pics. The only thing that needs to be fixed is to replace the crown to a push-in type(there are a few on the bay for $20-$30) because the one now on the watch is a simple replacement and you can't set the minutes altough you can imagine why I never replaced it myself, its perfectly accurate and you can set the hour hand separately(very practical for travelers in different timezones). With this price I believe there's plenty of room for the buyer to replace the crown, I can guarantee that the minute/second setting is fully working with a push-in type crown and even if you don't replace it, you would barely use it.For a better understanding how the time setting works, here's a link to its user manual An English Omega Owners Manual for a 1342 movement
Stainless steel 32mm diameter never polished case with sharp edges as a razor, white gold bezel which alone is probably worth a $100 as scrap gold.Sapphyre crystal, the bracelet can fit a max. wrist of 19.5cm-7.67inch. I remember that the movement was cleaned 4-5years ago, yes a quartz can use that also sometimes, sorry I doubt I could find the service receipt for that. New Sony battery fitted ~2months ago.
I would love if the watch goes to somebody who appreciates it's a quartz chronometer as a curiosity and not just because its omega written on the dial and affordable price. Asking price:$215
