Hamilton produced the Neilsen in 1953 and 1954. While small by today's standards, this watch represents a time when men's watches actually began to increase in size. The brushed sterling silver dial is original and has solid 18k gold applied numerals and what appear to be original hands, including the small second hand in the sunken dial at 6 o'clock. The paint for the minute and second track is in near mint condition. The movement was serviced July 2018 and is running well and currently running +/- 21 seconds per day.
16mm Lug to Lug
39mm Tip to Tip
Case - Hand polished 10k gold filled.
Lugs - There is some wear through on the top of one of the lugs. Drilled lug holes to make changing the strap very easy.
Crystal - High domed acrylic crystal in like-new condition.
Hands - In excellent shape with some very light patina on the small seconds hand.
Dial - Sterling silver dial, 18k solid gold applied numerals. Extremely light patina on the dial with the minute and sub seconds track paint in minty condition.
Band - The vintage genuine calfskin leather band appears to be unworn. Based on some marketing photos from the time, the band may very well be original to the watch. It has a gold tone clasp with no wear.
Movement - Hamilton caliber 747, manual wind. Serviced July 2018. Runs strong and keeping excellent time.
