    Explorer and Explorer II wristshots

New at the WUS forum, thought I'd share a few (well, a lot of) photos for the adventurous hardcore Rolex Explorer fans...

(you TRF'ers have seen 'em all before, just scroll all the way down for a fresh shot ):

    The Explorer:

    The Explorer II:

    And both:

    ...and not just any Rolex!

    Cheers!

    Let me say: congratulation!

    Amazing Pictures at all.

I know those beauty, as owner also of a Explorer 1016 of 1974, what I can say is that the minimal design, the reliability and the understatement of the Explorer series, make them some of the best watches in the world.

    My 1016:

    My 114270 e 15750:

    Again congrats for the pictures!

    Thank you, Schirra!

A 1016 (and a 1655 for that matter) is definitely on the wish list...

The 1016 especially with is correct folded bracelet, it was in my wish list for years, finally I've found it ... what I see is the difficult to find a good 1655, especially for the price

Re: Explorer and Explorer II wristshots

Just found these as I was searching for Explorer info and photos. The photos are beautiful and very well composed. The b&w format seems to enhance the depth and visual appeal of these black-dialed watches. My attraction to the photos is also enhanced by virtue of my love of the outdoors (although I have to admit I don't do any rock climbing, I do love hiking and canoeing) and that I also play guitar.

What brought me over to the Rolex forum, though, is that I have been shopping for a new watch and had my mind set on an IWC Mark XVl, but after trying it on, did not quite like the way it looked on my wrist. Although only 39 mm, it wears larger and as I do not have large wrists, I started thinking of alternatives. While many here are celebrating the new and larger Explorer, I think that the older model fits me well, and am now seriously considering it. Anyway, just wanted to thank you for the inspirational photos, and I will post results of my watch purchase decision when completed.
