Nice. I hope you've taken the batteries out.

Well done on keeping them with the boxes and tags.

They are actually from my younger days, before I really got the watch sickness, and have been sitting in a drawer for years.

The next step is to see if I can resurrect them, and hope that the batteries are still intact.

IIRC, the AQ-20 was unique for its time, and I haven't come across anything like it since, such as the digital "second hand" formed by the outer ring, but admittedly, I haven't been looking too hard. Its manual is probably lurking somewhere, too, but I haven't found it. Good thing I was able to find a scan online. Do have the original purchase receipt, though.

That AQ-20's a real gem. According Casio, their first analog / digital watch was the AQ-500, which used module 305. But according to vintage Casio listing, there were AQ-11, AQ-20, AQ-200 and AQ-300 prior to the AQ-500 model number. May be they were designed before the AQ-500, but somehow were not being released first. The AQ-20 was using one of the modules between 300 to 302, since all 3 were in the same manual. You can probably verify the module number quickly with yours. If it's true as you described with the digital seconds indications, then it would be the first of its kind at least for Casio. The AQ-500 had only a single rectangular digital display at the bottom of the analog hands, which set the trend for most analog / digital designs to this day.

The modern equivalent to the AQ-20 is the AQ-164 with the same digital displays layout, i.e. two rectangular LCDs plus the ring for digital seconds indication.
