    Orient Star Seeker

Picked this up on the Black Friday sale to replace the Orient Star Retrograde I stupidly sold. Great presence on the wrist but not overbearing. The pearl like finish on the white dial is gorgeous and adds interest to an already interesting dial. The GMT/second time zone function is one of my favorite (I think I have 6-7 now that read multiple time zones) and this implementation is nice, though a little different that some others as it's the GMT hand that moves when setting as opposed to the hour hand like on my Omega. I don't mind it, but just be aware that it may operate differently than you're used to.

The inner bezel can be handy for a third timezone. The screwdown crown at 4:00 is for the inner bezel and keeps it in place. The crown at 2:00 is for setting and hand winding, and is not screw down. Strangely, the crowns are unsigned.

The case is a nice combination of polished and brushed surfaces and the bracelet is largely brushed, with some polished center link portions. The end links are solid and along with the push button clasp give it a very solid feel. The clasp is stamped with the OS logo. This is probably my only nit to pick with this watch (and the Retrograde I had before). For a watch this nice, a crisply etched or engraved logo would look nicer and have minimal affect on the price of the watch.

I rotate watches daily so I'm not really hung up on accuracy. However, I did check it when I first got it and it was just at +9 seconds/day while wearing it and spending the night on a winder. That's well within it's stated specs, but I suspect you could have it adjusted to even better accuracy if you were so inclined. I'm happy with as is.

The movement is somewhat decorated with a gold Orient Star logo on the rotor being the nicest touch. I like display backs, and this one is fine and appropriate for it's price point.

Overall, just another fine Orient Star watch, and one that I'm happy to own. I've even broken my rotation on a few occasions to wear this on consecutive days. It must be a keeper! :)

Very nice review. Thank you for posting.

Does the height of the watch hinder its ability to slide under a cuff? It seems to be a little bit tall?

Well, 15 months later, I'll give you a non-answer. :) I don't know as I don't wear long sleeved shirts. It is a beefy watch but no more so than any other sport watch.

Picked up the black face version of the Star Seeker GMT. Wonderfully built, solid quality. First Orient I've owned and looks to be worth the price.
