    5000T End link screws help

Anyone here successfully removed the end links from their 5000T? I'm having a really hard time getting them out (want to put a rubber strap on), and I'm afraid of stripping/scarring the heads. Those suckers are tight Have all sorts of tools, and none work. Thanks, Michael

Apparently that is a common problem. One recent poster went through that process and had to actually machine a screwdriver to do the job.

I have always had good luck with bracelets by heating the bracelet metal. It only takes a slight expansion to loosen the screw.
Either a hair dryer or hot water usually works for me.

Bill's spot on. Also the screwdriver has to be a perfect fit on slotted screws. So you can't use the same screwdriver you use on the bracelet screws on the lug screws.

I've learned the hard way and just ordered replacement tubes from Doxa. I'm glad that their finally available!

This is one of the things I didn't like about the 300T reissue. I had problems with the screws on mine.
