    5000T v. 1000T

New to the Doxa experience. Just recieved from Doxa a 1000 SH and found it way too small. Has anyone else has a similar reaction? I have a Benarus Barracuda which is als 42mm and it wears so much bigger than the 1000. Andy at Doxa has been great to work with and I'm in the process of getting the 5000T. Please tell me this will cure my need for a larger diver!!!! I usually wear a Breitling Superocean Steelfish XL and find that size to be optimal, hoping the 5000 will provide the same in more of a sport/tool/diver watch.

Looking forward to hearing back from the diehard Doxa fans...

    Thanks.

I ordered a 5000T military last year when the sale prices started, and I was shipped a 1000T on accident. I really am glad I went with the 5000T, something about the doxa case design makes them seem smaller than their specs show.

I'm with you. My first was a 5000T and I loved it, nice and large, with large dial. I then had a 1000 and sold it, even though it's not that much smaller--the dial is, however, which makes it look and wear smaller. I don't think you'll have any worries.

The 750T that I now own seems significantly larger than the 1000T that I used to own. The 5000T is even larger than the 750T. However, I never really had a problem with the size of the 1000T but never adjusted to the yellow dial and probably would also feel the same about the orange. It's all about personal taste!

I agree ; i love my 1200T (same size as 1000) but after a couple of months i found it it doesn't get a lot of wristtime because i'm used to bigger watches
Was looking for a 5000 as well but due to Doxa's exchange policies I'll wait for a second hand

I've seen the 5000 and you won't be dissapointed by it's size !!!

I would have taken pics to compare if I had them at the same time. I really don't think I can bring myself to purchase something that isn't a 5000T with how they feel in person. I'm actually thinking about another 5000T sharkhunter non military, or 1000T military but the size thing kills me.

    Re: 5000T v. 1000T

Agreed, I first bought a 1000T Pro, LOVED the watch really beautiful, well built, comfortable, smooth crown... but it just wa a tad small... it wore smaller than the 42mm would even suggest due to case shape and small dial diameter IMO. So I bought the 750T SHarkhunter and compared both... though the specs are not much bigger, it made enough differnece for me and it is the right size. Love the 750t and may go for a 5000T next
    Hope these pics help:

    Brice -

the pics are worth a 1000 words...I underestimated the visual effect of the smaller dial... can't wait for the 5000. I have tried for a month to get a 750T, but they are hard to come by...coughing up the $2K for the 5000 instead. thanks for your thoughts.
