    750T vs 1500T... why?

Between the 750T and 1500T, which one would you pick? And why?

Currently 1500T has only the Professional and Searambler on offer. But assuming all colors are made available at some point in time, what are the other obvious differences you would be leaning towards? Soprod vs 2824? That may be big, but aesthetics? collector's?

Currently just the Searamble 1500T left. The Pro is sold out.

For me, between the two I would go with the 1500T. Thicker case, and awesome bracelet.

Below is a link to a very well done specs chart comparing all Doxa watches.

Both use a 47mm case. Using the chart you can compare other specs, such as dial diameter, that seem to vary between some of editions of each model. The new 1500 uses an A-10 movement.

As Kevin points out, only the silver 1500 is still available, so the 750 is moot, unless you are willing to buy a watch second hand. If so, the chart would be very helpful I would think because these seems to be variations on each model out there.

You can also use the search function. Here's just one comparison thread:

I have the 1500t, but would prefer the 750t. For me it's a bit too thick and specially with the bracelet it's a heavy watch, also I'm not that big fan of the new version of BoR. So it depends what you prefer, the 1500 is more modern version and the 750 more vintage feel.

That chart is such a great resource. Although my 750t sharkie case back says 5000 were produced.

    So differences are:
    Movement
    Sapphire
    Height
    Weight
    Dial colors
    Bracelet

The total run of 750Ts was supposed to be 5000 all in all - including regular versions, COSC versions, and Military versions. The GMTs were not part of the 5000, and neither were the 750T Caribbean Seahunter's Edition (which were a separate run of 250 pcs). I have done a lot of internet research of the 750T and I have not found ONE SINGLE 750T that was marked with a number between 2000-2999. That means that there were at the most 4000 750Ts produced - the most common of which would have been the Professional, followed probably by the Sharkhunter. The rarest would have been the COSC Carribbean (so called "double R") with white hour hand, and orange minute and second hands. As far as I know, only two of these were made (the other "double Rs" had white second hands), and one was (purportedly) sent back to Doxa. What happened to this watch I do not know. Doxa offered to replace the misspelled Carribbean dial for a correct Caribbean dial, but I have not seen a single watch with correctly spelled dial - and I would LOOOVE to see one, or even own one.

Thank you both. Not sure I would invest the time and effort again if I had to do that today - I'm currently less then pleased or impressed with Doxa (re: Black Lung ordering debacle)

I humbly thank you for the spec chart, and I know how much time and effort it would take to make. I have used it many many times, and it led me down the 'rabbit hole' of researching the 750T for hours on end. I would gladly share it with you if you were to update the chart.

Glad you did do it back whenever: you have provided a very useful and detail chart that the manufacture curiously fails to do.

This would be OK for a fashion watch, or a watch you'd buy in a mall.

But for a watch company that prides itself on its historic relationship as a provisioner of precision time pieces to people who's very lives could have depended on their product? Seems to me that a company sold products to divers, especially professional and advanced divers, would have every imaginable detail clearly set out in tables on a website designed for no-nonsense access. In would be in their DNA.

Too bad about their most recent customer relations problem. Many have shared they're experiences with Doxa CS, mine included; proactiveness and transparency are not strong points. Those of us in the West find this below expected standards, but it is not uncommon for small, multi-generational companies in certain parts of the EU, like Walca.

I bought 2 Doxa's last year, as a new customer. Would not buy another one, and plan to sell at least 1 of them this spring.

I think the 1500T just because the thicker case really makes the watch feel substantial on my wrist
